Not the first time tragedy has occurred at Travis Scott concerts

Travis Scott concert accidents recently resulted in tragedy. The Astroworld Festival in Houston took place on November 5th, 2021. Eight people died that night and numerous people suffered from injuries.

However, this was not the first time injuries had occurred at a Travis Scott concert.

In 2017, during a Terminal 5 Manhattan concert, the crowd surged, pushing one of Scott’s fans off a balcony. At Travis Scott’s orders, security guards dragged the injured fan to the stage. Clearly, the injured fan was in need of a neck brace and other immediate medical treatment. Dragging the fan to the stage should not have been the priority. According to the New York Post, the 23-year-old fan suffered from fractured vertebrae and became paralyzed. He must use a wheel chair as a result of the accident.

In addition, the New York Post mentioned that earlier, Scott also faced charges of inciting a riot at an Arkansas concert.

The Recent Houston Texas Astroworld Festival

Travis Scott played at the 2021 Houston Texas Astroworld Festival, attended by 50,000 people. The crowd surge from the back of the venue crushed people together in the front. Many complained that they could not breathe. According to The New York Times, more than 300 people received treatment at the “field hospital” site. The city’s fire chief, Samuel Peña, said that emergency personnel transported 23 people to nearby hospitals. Eleven of those patients suffered from cardiac arrest.

A concertgoer reported hearing Travis Scott on three occasions telling the crowd to help people who had passed out.

Police are still investigating the underlying causes of injuries. This was one of the deadliest crowd control disasters in U.S. history.
